I was recently interviewed by Frederick Van Johnson for This Week in Photo, and since our conversation was entirely focused on Weekly Fifty I wanted to share it with all of you here on the blog. You can read more (or listen to the audio podcast version of the interview) by visiting This Week in Photo, and I’d love to hear any thoughts or comments you might have.
Thank you!

I just listened to the podcast featuring your interview. It’s so refreshing to see that there are photographers like you who do it for the joy of photography instead of likes. I myself take pictures, although I’m not a pro, I think, or at least that’s what my wife says, my pictures are good and in some instances better in comparison to others. However, I try not to attach to the IG cookie cutter way of photos, but it’s frustrating to see how my posts don’t generate the attention. That’s what I said it’s nice to know there are photographers like you willing to share, educate, and even advise photographers like me who are looking for that constant drive and motivation to take pictures of everything and anything. Great interview and great website showing your work. Thank you for the podcast.
Sincerely.

Javier, I’m glad you enjoyed the podcast interview! I really appreciate your comments and your kind words, and I definitely can relate to what you said about getting attention on IG. I’ve been down that road a few times and it’s not a great space for me mentally–I much prefer to just do my blog, take pictures, and keep learning :)
